What is Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)?

Benign prostatic hyperplasia, a noncancerous enlargement of the prostate gland, is the most common benign tumor found in men, with more than 50% of men aged 60-69 years and as many as 90% aged 70-89 years having symptoms of BPH. Some estimate that close to 20 million men in the U.S. suffer from BPH and could benefit from treatment.
